Realtors get a lesson in history and the environment at The Cork House

Friday, April 11, 2008

Walt Jurgen, Broker and Area Sales Manager for the Royal LePage Oak Park office in the Uptown Core was looking for a unique way to introduce Paul Likuski - owner of Walls Alive Painting Co., and his environmentally friendly decorating service.

There's no place more unique that the "Cork House", Halton Region's oldest home located on Neyagawa just South of Dundas. Karen Bragg, Ali Abdilahi and Fay Stallan of the Jelinek Cork Group provided a group of Royal LePage Realtors with a presentation on the history of the home and the beauty and value of cork products such as flooring, wall coverings, furniture and accent pieces. Paul was involved in the restoration of this Oakville treasure and bringing it back to it's historic elegance, with 16 coats of eco-friendly paint finishes.

"As Oakville grows North, I think it's important for all our Realtors to appreciate the efforts of our Town to protect our natural environment and for Realtors to understand the importance and value of environmentally friendly construction and decorating products" Jurgen says. The consensus is that "cork is cool!"
